2. Inception (2010):
Directed by Christopher Nolan and one of the best-rated films in the last 25 years, Inception boasts an impressive cast and complex, meta-story surrounding heists and dreams. This film is guaranteed to get you thinking and amaze you with mind-bending visuals. Fun fact, many scenes that seemed CGI generated were custom-built and executed as real stunts.

3. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (2009)
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is about a scientist who creates a machine that makes food fall out of the sky. I mean, sounds like a dream come true, eh?

4. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
Say what you will about British humour, but Monty Python’s cult classic offers up some of the best side-splitting scenes and banter in this Robin Hood satire that instantly won over anyone who enjoys a bit of silliness. Watching this flick is guaranteed to give your abs a good workout!

5. The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
While definitely an odd and quirky movie, this film, with its colourful backdrops, star-studded cast, and quirky dialogues is considered by most as Wes Anderson’s most visually striking and whimsical film. Watching this with an open mind and an eye for eccentric art will keep you enraptured for an hour and a half.

6. Ex Machina (2014)
What would this list be without a solid sci-fi film? Ex Machina offers up beautiful visuals and effects while also getting you thinking about the benefits and dangers of Artificial Intelligence and technology, as a whole.

7. O Brother Where Art Thou? (2000)
Another outlier, this oddly comedic, musical film has interesting visuals, set in the deep south in the 1930s, and boasts some of the best quirky harmonies ever recorded in a movie.

8. Memento (1999)
Christopher Nolan’s work cracks our list again with this mind-bending story of revenge and short-term memory loss. The film is cut up between scenes of the present day and memories. We think being high while watching it might help you piece the whole story together… There’s always a recut version for those who can’t follow.

9. Ted (2012)
A movie about a talking Teddy bear that swears, drinks, and smokes weed may be very close to being a stoner movie, but it could just be a raunchy comedy. Regardless, its ludicrous premise always sits better when under the influence.

The sometimes awkward pacing and hilarious banter in Napoleon Dynamite registers a lot better when high. Watching it with an “open” mind will help you understand why it instantly became a cult classic.
